Foam Pigs are used to remove dust or fluids from all pipe materials. They are generally pushed through a pipe using air or water pressure, although they can be supplied with a facility to allow them to be pulled through a pipe. Our original and most popular Towing Head designed to work over a range of wall thicknesses for any particular pipe size. This can be supplied with or without a rear eye and with a flat plate in place of the nose cone. The Red Nose Towing Head has been designed to reduce the weight of the Standard Towing Head in sizes 200mm and above. The nose is made from PU. -
Duct Brushes are used to remove dirt and other loose debris from inside electrical or communication ducts. They are supplied either with an eye at both ends for pulling through ducts, or with a M12 fitting for pushing through ducts using a Cobra (Flexible Fibreglass Rod). They are available to suit ducts from 2″ (50mm ) to 16″ (400mm). -

Can be used to seal or test all types of pipe from 35mm up to 1200mm. 1.5 bar and 2.5 bar models available. The Pipe Equipment Specialists’ range of Inflatable Pipe Stoppers can be used to seal and test all type of pipes from 35mm up to 1200mm. Two models are available – Blank and Test. Two inflation pressures – 1.5 bar and 2.5 bar. Allowable Backpressure (Test Pressure) is equal to 50% of the Inflation Pressure.** Large expansion range. Lightweight – most sizes can be installed by one person. Can be supplied with any length of inflation hose. ** Maximum inflation & back pressure figures are for stoppers fully inserted into the pipe and mechanically braced against slippage. An Inflation assembly, complete with pressure relief and pressure gauge, suitable for use with an on site compressor, can be supplied separately. A Heavy Duty Hand Pump is also available. -
Pull Throughs, also known as Squeegees and Plungers, are used to remove fine particles and fluids from pipes. They consist of two thick rubber discs mounted on a high tensile steel central shaft with a towing eye at each end. For applications where the pipeline contains tight bends a ‘flexible’ Pull Through can be supplied. This model has a chain linking the two discs, rather than a rigid central shaft. They are suitable for use with all pipe materials and are available in the size range 2″ (50mm) to 48″ (1200mm). -
GIS E4 Gas Bag from Pipe Equipment Specialists
The GIS E4 gas bag is designed to pass through restricted openings measuring about 1/4 of the nominal pipe diameter or less.
Manufactured by our sister company Flowstop, with a strong 4oz nylon outer cover and a flexible backbone, they are highly durable and specifically designed for gas flow-stopping applications.
Available in cylindrical and spherical shapes.
- Stocked range: 3" - 12" (75mm - 300mm) – Conforms to GIS/E4 specification, available with UNF thread.
- Larger range: 13" - 36" (325mm - 900mm) – Manufactured in accordance with GIS/E4 but not tested and approved to the standard. Available with UNF thread.

Wire Brush Pigs consist of two circular wire brushes mounted onto a high tensile steel central shaft with a towing eye located at each end. They are designed to be pulled through a metal pipe to remove loose deposits and dust prior to insertion of PE pipe. They can also be used after the Pipe Scraper to remove the deposits loosened by the scrapers. They are available from stock, for all common pipe sizes up to 12″ (300mm), with larger sizes available on request. Wire brushes are also available to mount on the front of a Towing Head to allow the metal pipe to be cleaned as the new PE pipe is installed. -
Double Clevis Swivel for limited rotational applications. Used in winching applications to avoid damage to the cable or product pipe as a result of twisting winch wires. The Double Clevis Swivels feature a large clevis thereby avoiding the need for ‘D’ shackles and enabling direct connection onto Pipe Equipment Towing Heads. They are used in pipe bursting operations to ease rod and blade removals in two way bursts. -
The Pipe Equipment Pipe Support Rollers have been specially designed to ease the problems of handling plastic pipes during jointing and installation. They greatly reduce the chances of pipe damage as a result of the pipe string being trailed along the ground and keep pipe drag to a minimum. Pipe Support Rollers are available as ‘Free Standing’ or ‘In Trench’. -
Pipe Scrapers are designed to remove hard deposits and nodules. This type, which are also known as Christmas Tree Scrapers, are made up of a number of spring steel scrapers mounted on a high tensile steel central shaft. These scrapers remove deposits as they are winched through the pipe. The central shaft is fitted with a towing eye at each end to allow the scraper to be pulled back if necessary. They are available for all pipe sizes in the range 2″ (50mm) to 48″ (1200mm). -

This glanding system, which has been tested at pressures up to 7 bar, is most suited for insertion of the Tracer Rod into gas and water mains and services. The gland rubber, which is about 25mm thick, can be compressed during use to increase the seal and prevent leakage. It has a 1” BSP internal thread as standard and is supplied with an adaptor to suit ¾” BSP. An adaptor to suit ¾” and 1” gas meter thread is also available Tracer Gland MP 3/4" & 1" BSP Thread -

- Winch placed into manhole 1. (See attached data sheet)
- Winch rods inserted into old pipe from manhole 1 and connect to head in manhole 2
- Head winched into old pipe, which is broken and displaced
- New Pipe is located in shield on rear of head and held in place by simple tensioning device.
- Head is again winched forward. New pipes are snapped together behind the head as it is winched forward.
- Above step is repeated until full length is in place.
